​Have you ever thought about running for local office? Now might be the time. We need Democrats representing the values and priorities of people in our community -- on city councils, school boards, and other local policymaking boards and committees.

Right now we're recruiting candidates for dozens of offices in North County where no Democrat has declared their candidacy. We know from experience that in some of these races, there won't be more candidates than there are open seats, so simply qualifying for the ballot is enough to get elected. But we can't win unless people like you step up to run. 

The candidate filing period for the November 2024 election starts July 15, and closes August 9.  While the filing process is fairly easy, time is of the essence. The San Diego County Democratic Party is here to answer questions, help candidates through the steps, and then provide tools and services to elect the Democrats we endorse.

Finally, scroll down to provide your information, and select the offices you'd consider running for.  A Democratic Party representative will contact you to answer questions and guide you through the experience if you decide to run. The change we need can begin with you!
