San Diego County is a battleground in the fight to stop Trump and preserve fair elections. That's why SD Dems are working to pass Proposition 50. Also known as the Election Rigging Response Act, it's a ballot measure in the November 4 special election that would protect California's voice in Congress.
Republicans in Texas and other states are making an unprecedented power grab to rig the 2026 elections. They want to steal enough seats to control Congress regardless of how the people vote. If we don't act now, Trump will hold unchecked power for two more years.
Key facts about Prop. 50:
It's an emergency response to level the playing field, creating five new Democratic-leaning districts.
It reaffirms independent redistricting as California's default and calls on all states to adopt impartial maps.
It's temporary. After 2030, California's Citizens Redistricting Commission will draw the lines again.
Ballots will be sent to California voters the week of October 6, and the last day to vote is November 4, 2025. This is our moment to defend Democracy and stop Trump's power grab.
