The San Diego County Democratic Party invites you to apply for our Democratic Leadership Academy.
The San Diego County Democratic Party offers opportunities throughout the year for currently enrolled or recently graduated students to participate in our Democratic Leadership Academy. This program provides hands-on political experience and interactions with Democratic activists and Party leaders, including but not limited to, organizing fundamentals, issue advocacy, community engagement, hands-on political experience and interactions with current Democratic activists & Party leaders.
These cohort positions are often a means to connect with campaigns or government offices, which can lead to further opportunities as they have for a number of our former organizers.
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills,
Attention to detail,
Proficiency in standard office technology,
Availability of at least five to tenhours per week, and
A genuine interest in politics and support the Democratic Party's platform and candidates
During the Democratic Leadership Academy, you will:
Gain hands-on political experience,
Interact with Democratic activists and Party leaders,
Connect with campaigns or governments,
Support various day-to-day activities of the Party, and
Including administration, field organizing, research, finance, communications and social media
Exploring four main areas:
Organizing
Communications
Campaign Operations
Public Policy & Government
Join the San Diego Democratic Leadership Academy and receive hands-on training, mentorship, and placement opportunities with campaigns, elected officials, labor organizations, advocacy groups, and the San Diego County Democratic Party.
